Description
A vibrant work from 1987, exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition the same year. Looking across a garden toward Oxenbridge Farm in Iden, East Sussex - opposite the artist’s home - the composition captures the quiet intimacy of the Sussex landscape through luminous colour and fluid brushwork. The building is likely the rear of Oxenbridge Farm, where Paul Nash rented a cottage in the late 1920s.
