James Le Jeune

James Le Jeune (1910-1983) was an Irish Canadian artist best known for his portraits. Le Jeune began his art training in Paris and later in London at the Heatherley School of Fine Art and the Byam Shaw School of Art, before attending The Art Students League in New York.

Le Jeune’s paintings were featured in exhibitions, including the New English Art Club and The Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Today, the artist’s work can be found in The National Gallery of Ireland and The National Self Portrait Collection of Ireland.

The artist was elected a member of the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) in 1973.
